Ultimate Garlic Bread
This ultimate version of garlic bread pairs perfectly with pasta dishes, soup, or salad, or as a delicious appetizer on its own.
Ingredients
- 1 large loaf of ciabatta or sourdough bread
- 4 large cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- red chili flakes (optional)
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice your bread in half horizontally.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté it in the butter until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat, then stir in the salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly onto the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread. If you like, add a dash of red chili flakes for a bit of heat.
- Place the two halves on a baking sheet, cut side up, and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
- Remove the bread from the oven and immediately sprinkle the fresh parsley over the top.
- Let it cool slightly, then slice and serve.
