Dehydrated Granola

This Dehydrated Granola is a versatile, nutritious snack with the perfect balance of oats, nuts, seeds, and dried fruits. Using your food dehydrator, you can create delicious granola that’s free from preservatives.

Ingredients

  • Three cups of rolled oats
  • One cup mix of almonds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds
  • Half cup chopped dried fruits (such as raisins or apricots)
  • One cup honey/maple syrup
  • Half cup melted coconut oil/unsalted butter
  • One teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats with nuts and seeds.
  2. In a separate bowl whisk together honey / maple syrup, melted coconut oil / unsalted butter along with vanilla extract and pinch of salt.
  3. Pour this wet mixture over dry ingredients in step 1 and stir until well-coated.
  4. Spread your granola mix evenly on dehydrator trays ensuring it forms thin layer; break up any large clumps for even drying.
  5. Set your dehydrator at 135°F (57°C) to maintain crunchiness while still preserving the nutrients. Dehydrate for up to 6-8 hours until dry and crisp to your liking.
  6. Allow granola to cool before mixing in chopped dried fruits of your choice.
  7. Store cooled, dehydrated granola in an airtight container.
