Beef and Noodles

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef stew meat
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups Beef Broth
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Bay leaves
  • Thyme
  • Rosemary
  • Parseley flakes
  • Chili flakes (optional)
  • Half cup of red wine(optional)
  • Wide egg noodles

Directions

  1. Season the beef with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in pan over medium-high heat. Brown all sides of your meat then set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté the onions until they turn soft and translucent. Add minced garlic, stirring for about 30 seconds to release its aroma.
  4. Transfer all the browned beef into your slow cooker and add sautéed onion-garlic mix on top.
  5. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, herbs (bay leaves, thyme, rosemary), parsley flakes, chili flakes if you prefer a kick of spice, along with half cup of red wine for extra depth of flavor (optional).
  6. Cover your slow cooker and set it on low heat for about 7-8 hours or until the beef is tender enough to be easily broken up with a fork.
  7. About an hour before the cooking ends, stir in uncooked wide egg noodles directly into the stew inside your slow cooker. Recover and let them cook until they’re soft when tested.
  8. Do a taste test towards end of cooking time to adjust seasoning as required.
